Honorary Fellowship bestowed.

Johan de Koker and Theo van Robbroeck

At SAICE House in Midrand on 14 April, during the SAICE Council Orientation session, an Honorary Fellowship was justly bestowed upon Theo P. C. Van Robbroeck. In his career which had several highlights, including an active role in the Tugela-Vaal pumped storage project, the undoubted crowning achievement has been his involvement in the Lesotho Highlands Water Project. The details and importance of this project are well known, but it may never have seen the light of day in its present form had it not been for Theo van Roebbroeck, whose contribution was not only in the technical field but also in the very sensitive arena of international politics and finance.

In recognition of his achievements during his career, the University of Stellenbosch awarded him an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering. For the same reason, he was awarded the Alfred Lewis Gold Medal by the Department of Water Affairs.

Our heartiest congratulations to Theo van Robbroeck!
