SAICE will inaugurate Dr Martin Van Veelen, as its 110th president. He takes over the rotating presidency from Seetella Makhetha.

The event will be attended by various high profile guests including environmental professionals, champions of the infrastructure industry, government officials, engineering clients from both the private and public sectors, as well as SAICE members, civil engineers, technicians and technologists of South Africa.
In his presidential address, entitled ‘A Succession Plan for Civil Engineering in South Africa’, Dr Van Veelen is expected to touch on various issues pertaining to the challenges experienced by the industry, but most importantly to those relating to the sustainable succession of relevant skills and experience.
